3.1.5 Conguration le

Not all options mus be given on the compiler commandline. The compiler can use a conguration le wich can contain the same options as on the command-line. Unless you specify the -n (see page 5.1.1) option, the compiler will look for a conguration le fpc.cfg in the following places:

• Under unix (such as linux)
  1. The current directory.
  2. In your home directory, it looks for .fpc.cfg.
  3. The directory specied in the environment variable PPC_CONFIG_PATH, and if it is not set, it will look in the etc directory above the compiler directory. (for instance, if the compiler is in /usr/local/bin, it will look in /usr/local/etc)
  4. In the directory /etc.
• Under all other OSes:
  1. The current directory.
  2. If it is set, the directory specied in the environment variable. PPC_CONFIG_PATH.
  3. The directory where the compiler is.

Versions prior to version 1.0.6 of the compiler used a conguration le ppc386.cfg. This le is still searched, but it's usage is considered deprecated. For compatibility, fpc.cfg will be searched rst, and if not found, the le ppc386.cfg will be used.
